Dr. Ronald J. Mak, DMD, San Mateo Dentist

Background and Credentials

Dr. Ronald Mak is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Mateo Dental Society, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He grew up in the Bay Area of California near San Mateo. After receiving his Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Biology from UC Irvine, he went on to train at the Western University of Health Sciences where he then received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, graduating at the top of his class. Throughout his studies, he participated in mission trips abroad to countries like Panama to provide dental care for the underserved of international communities.

A Sincere Passion for Dentistry

Dr. Mak has extensive post-graduate training and experience in all aspects of general dentistry, often traveling to conferences to learn and study new procedures to offer his clients. With a passion for maintaining healthy, long-lasting smiles, he specializes in implant and cosmetic dentistry, employing precise hand-eye coordination, intricate attention to detail, and deep understanding of his patients’ needs. With the newest technological advancements such as Dexis Intra Oral X-rays, Vatech Cone Beam CT, and the Medit I-700 intra-oral scanner, Dr. Mak proves capable of providing the best dental care possible for his patients, all of whom range from children to seniors. As an alternative to everyday English, he also speaks proficient Cantonese and conversational Mandarin and Spanish to communicate effectively with broader audiences.

In His Free Time

In addition to dentistry, Dr. Mak enjoys golf, basketball, and surfing. He currently lives with his fiancée and poodle mix dog in South San Francisco, California, and spends time with his parents and extended family whenever possible outside of his five days a week in the clinic, where he looks forward to serving his local community everyday.
